Projection TV Is Everywhere

They are everywhere you go. Large warehouse stores, electronic stores, and even in some banks. The hottest item in the electronic marketplace today is the projection TV. And, you want to own one.

There are two different types of projection TVs available today and both can provide a larger screen than the standard TVs that have been around for decades (also known as the cathode ray tub or CRT).

The projection TV can be either a front projection or a rear projection. A front projection uses a projector and a separate screen and it projects images onto the front of the screen. The system requires that you set the projector component either on a table in the room or have it installed into the ceiling. This is similar to what you have seen at conferences over the years, however, the picture on the projection TV is better.

A rear end projection TV looks like a standard TV set. It has the capacity to display the image on the back of the screen and the projection system is completely encased in the TV set. This allows more flexibility in moving the TV from location to location and less chances of someone knocking over the projector component (used in the front projection system).

The best way to determine what type of projection TV you want to purchase is to begin by doing your research. Start with the internet, use your local library and even go into stores and start looking at systems. Keep notes on what you want, and what you like and dislike about each system. You will need these later to help you straighten out your thoughts.

Visit as many stores as you can and get a demonstration of the different systems and manufacturer's designs. While the differences in the projection TVs might be small, there are some important things to think about before you buy.

Go in with a list of important questions and ask the sales representative each of them. There may be ones they do not want to answer and they will focus their part of the conversion on the benefits and reward of owning a projection TV. Do not be distracted and make sure that you get your answers to all of your questions. One thing to consider is what will cost to replace the bulb inside the projection TV-is it fairly inexpensive and can you do it yourself? Or, do you have to order the bulb, make an appointment for service and pay a service technician to come and replace it?

The main thing to remember is that you must be happy with your purchase and getting all of the information up front and doing your homework will make the different. You do not want to end up with an expensive projection television system that you do not like because you probably can not return it.

Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy watching the new projection TV that you purchased. It will be the source of family entertainment for years to come.
